FIRST 3512 Spartatroniks is a registered 501(c)(3) California nonprofit organization. Our primary goal is to develop an interest in STEM and business in our students through competition, to ready students for involvement in STEM after graduation. We strive to equip our students with real-world engineering and business skills to prepare them for a future within STEM.

Spartatroniks

Throughout the school year, students construct and program a robot in a one-of-a-kind industrial and administrative environment through hands-on learning as they gain skills they’ll use in their careers: manufacturing, fabricating, electrical engineering, computer aided design, computer science, accounting, and marketing. We hope to provide more STEM opportunities for students in our rural agricultural area by setting up more elementary-middle school robotics team in our area, to give all students the distinct advantage of operating functionally as soon as they are hired by offering the broad variety of jobs and training available in FIRST robotics teams.

Our organization utilizes a printer for many items to raise awareness about our team and what we achieve. We attend many events with our robot and flyers to hand out to people like parents or other members of the community, due to these demos catering more to our target demographic of local youth. We are also able to target these students by advertising to our local high schools' incoming freshmen. Our two main flyers are our detailed demographics, and our current year's robot design. The demographic flyers provide a lot of info on our team, such as our student leadership, demographics, and mission statement. It allows parents of students, potential sponsors, and community members to quickly learn about us and our goals. In contrast, our robot breakdown helps people quickly learn different parts of our robot and what it can do; allowing people to easily comprehend how our robot functions. Both of these also advertise our other forms of media, with QR codes that can quickly bring them to our website that has information about our sub-teams and past season history such as the times we attended the World Championships.

We also have utilized print media in the past to advertise our upcoming fundraisers. We hand out physical flyers for our students and mentors to hand out to families or close friends to help advertise the event, additionally to our ads through our social media and local newspapers. These help to spread the word to our community for our fundraisers, ensuring that our events receive a lot of local support.

Our team also has taken pride in the community around us! We use weekly newsletters to explain to parents what their students have accomplished throughout the week. We also include a safety star in every newsletter, a student who was chosen for being especially safe that week. We do this in order to promote safety among students, which is very important in a industrial setting. We also create newsletters geared towards our alumni and sponsors in order to inform them about topics they are interested in, such as the development of the year's robot and our achievements in regionals.

Receiving this grant would decrease the costs we have to allocate out of our fiscal budget towards advertising our fundraisers, allowing us to allocate the previous costs spent on advertising to different parts of our budget. This allows us to be able to create and improve more each season, by updating our older equipment and being able to allocate more money for financial aid for students.
