At Mt. Hope Bible Camp, our mission for over 50 years has been simple—bring the hope of Jesus Christ to kids and families in rural southern Ohio. In a world that’s quickly turning to digital everything, we’ve found that print and direct mail are still unmatched when it comes to connecting with people where they live, especially in communities where reliable internet isn’t a given.
We regularly use printed postcards with bright graphics and easy-to-scan QR codes to invite families to camp each year. It’s always great to hear from parents who put those reminders on their fridge, or from grandparents who keep our information handy when making summer plans with their grandkids. For many in our area, getting something meaningful in the mail carries a weight that an email just can’t.
Year after year, we print engaging workbooks for our campers to use during Bible lessons, daily devotions, and Scripture memory time throughout their week. Kids take those home, often showing their families what they learned—sometimes reading their favorite verses at the dinner table or flipping through activity pages with little brothers and sisters who hope to come to camp next year. These booklets don’t just help campers grow while they’re here—they keep sparking spiritual conversations at home long after summer is over.
But our print outreach doesn’t stop with campers. We lean heavily on direct mail newsletters and thank-you notes to stay connected with the supporters, churches, and prayer partners who make this ministry possible. Our “Give Hope” campaign every May puts a clear invitation to participate directly in people’s hands—encouraging involvement whether that means praying, volunteering, or giving. Many of our donors tell us that a letter on their kitchen counter means they feel remembered and valued by the Mt. Hope family.
One of our most effective print tools has been our Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) campaigns. By sending postcards to every home on key rural mail routes, we’ve connected with kids who never would have heard about Bible camp otherwise. In the past few years alone, we’ve watched new faces show up because of a simple postcard—and more importantly, many of these kids have made life-changing decisions for Christ while at camp. That’s why we keep expanding our EDDM each year, reaching into new areas and inviting even more families to experience Bible-centered fun, friendship, and spiritual growth.
Looking ahead, we’re walking through a significant transition between camp directors over the next three years. Communicating well—especially through newsletters, printed updates, and special announcements—is vital for keeping our whole community informed, reassured, and engaged throughout the process. Print makes sure no one is left out, even if they aren’t checking email or social media.
We’re also ramping up our use of printed signage and banners around campus during registration and events, helping newcomers feel at home and making every family’s visit smooth and organized.
We owe a huge thank you to Conquest Graphics for their faithful partnership over the past five years (and counting!). You’ve helped us create high-quality print materials that simply wouldn’t have been possible on our own budget. When a camper holds a colorful workbook, or a parent reads a heartfelt newsletter, or a family finds their way to an event because of a clear sign—your support has played a key role in those moments. We truly appreciate your investment in ministries like ours and the children we’re here to serve.
