MH Boxes is a youth-centered nonprofit organization committed to promoting mental health awareness and emotional well-being among Black adolescent girls. Our mission is grounded in the belief that every girl deserves to feel seen, supported, and equipped with tools to navigate life’s challenges. Since our founding, we have done this by delivering curated care packages that include affirmations, coping strategies, culturally responsive educational materials, and comforting items to help girls feel uplifted and connected. Each box is a physical reminder that they are not alone.
Print and direct mail have been essential components of how we fulfill this mission. In an increasingly digital world, we recognize that physical materials remain one of the most powerful, accessible, and personal ways to connect with our community. Our printed content isn’t just informational, it’s intentional. Each element is designed to foster trust, reinforce identity, and provide a tangible touchpoint of care and affirmation.
Our organization currently uses a wide variety of printed materials to elevate our message and deepen engagement with youth, families, donors, and community partners:
- Branded logo stickers are placed on every MH Box. These stickers represent more than just branding, they serve as symbols of belonging and pride. Many girls keep the boxes as personal treasures, using them to store journal entries, notes, or special keepsakes.
- Mental health resource sheets are included inside each box, offering immediate access to relevant support services, ranging from local therapists to national helplines. These sheets are designed in plain, supportive language and formatted to be easy for both youth and their caregivers to understand and use.
- At community events and vendor fairs, we distribute mental health fact sheets that raise awareness about the unique mental health challenges facing Black girls and their families. These materials help us start important conversations and share our mission with those who may not be familiar with our work.
- Sponsorship packets and one-page collaboration overviews are professionally printed and mailed to local businesses, foundations, and community leaders. These materials have helped us secure critical partnerships and funding, as they reflect the professionalism and quality of our programs.
- Inside each MH Box, we also include call-to-action inserts, which invite families to stay connected with us through social media, donations, or community involvement. These inserts turn a one-time gift into an opportunity for long-term engagement.
- We use printed letters for fundraisers and donation drives to add a warm, personal touch to our outreach. These letters have helped increase donor retention and build stronger relationships with our supporters.
- Most recently, we began printing guided mental health workbooks designed specifically for Black adolescent girls. These workbooks are culturally affirming and include reflective prompts, coping exercises, and goal-setting tools that promote self-awareness and resilience.
A print grant from Conquest Graphics would allow us to scale and enhance these efforts. Specifically, we plan to:
- Expand our direct mail campaigns to reach new donors, reconnect with past supporters, and share our growing impact.
- Develop and print new mental health education materials for distribution in school-based workshops, after-school programs, and summer camps.
- Launch a youth-led zine-style workbook series that gives girls an opportunity to co-create content that speaks directly to their peers.
- Produce annual impact reports and donor updates that highlight outcomes, stories, and how their support is making a difference.
For many of the girls we serve, access to reliable internet and digital resources is not guaranteed. That’s why printed materials remain one of the most trusted, consistent, and culturally grounded ways for us to connect and provide ongoing support. A print grant from Conquest Graphics would directly support our ability to scale this impact, helping us reach more girls, tell more stories, and create a stronger ecosystem of healing, advocacy, and representation.
