Mission To identify exceptional writers, nurture their work, and engage the widest possible audience. To publish diverse voices with transformative stories that illuminate important facets of our ever-changing planet. To develop literary resources for the conservation movement, educating and entertaining readers, inspiring action. Summary of background/history Founded in 2010 and converted to a nonprofit corporation in 2015, Torrey House Press promotes conservation through literature, publishing six to eight titles each year, which are distributed to the trade through Consortium Book Sales and Distribution. A lean and loving organization, Torrey House Press focuses staff resources on design, production, intellectual content work, and community building. With over 30 titles published to date, the press has established strong relationships with partners including regional independent booksellers and libraries, Utah Division of Arts and Museums, Utah Humanities, the University of Utah Environmental Humanities Graduate Program, and local arts organizations such as the Entrada Institute. We’re a small staff—one full-time volunteer and two part-time employees—and each of us brings personal passion for story and wild places
