Children's Haven International has been providing Loving Christian Care to Needy Children in Mexico since 1973. We are blessed to call over 50 children, ranging in age from toddlers to college age, our “Full-time Family”. The great majority of these precious boys and girls have been removed from their natural families due to extreme poverty, physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse. Though most are not true orphans, many have been abandoned or have parents that are incarcerated. Those that do have parents/relatives, cannot count on them to provide the proper nutrition, education, much less oversight and love they so desperately need and deserve. That blessing/burden falls upon our wonderful “Tios & Tias” the Mexican Christian couples that feel it is their calling from God to become House Parents to anywhere from 8 – 12 children. Our families live in one of the seven 6 bedroom homes we have on our 14 acre campus. Here the children learns firsthand what it’s like to be part of a Christian family – they see how a mother and father relate to each other and how God intends for children to be treated, with love, discipline and responsibility. For some of our children, their time with us may be just months or a few years; others will stay with us until they reach adulthood and successfully finish their University studies.
In 2008 we added another important arm of ministry, our Onsite Christian Elementary School which now not only serves 30+ children from our Home but also over 100 boys & girls from the surrounding community. We are extremely grateful to our supporters that embraced our vision of extending Christ’s love to our neighbors in such a practical, vital way. Of course adding a ministry of this magnitude and providing for all the needs of our full-time family requires a lot of extra funding! Therefore we are thrilled about the opportunity to participate in Conquest Graphics competition for “likes” in order to receive what could be up to $1,000 grant in printing costs. We’ve been using them for years to produce our bi-annual Heartbeat newsletter and could really put this grant to use. Thanks for your interest, time and support – hopefully you’ll not only be moved to “like” our page here but also promote it in your social media circles.
