Lifting for Lavi is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created in memory of Alavia “Lavi” Cleaver, a beautiful little girl whose life touched everyone around her. Lavi was born on April 3, 2000. At just 10 months old, she was diagnosed with a rare ependymoma brain tumor. She underwent multiple brain surgeries and had a shunt placed in her brain. Although her tumor was benign, it was recurrent, and she passed away just 13 days before her third birthday.

As her mother, I wanted to create something that would keep Lavi’s memory alive while turning our grief into something that could help others. Lifting for Lavi began as a charity powerlifting event and has grown into an annual community event bringing together athletes, families, businesses, sponsors, and supporters for a purpose much bigger than lifting weights.

Our 5th Annual Lifting for Lavi will take place on April 3, 2027—Lavi’s birthday. This milestone event will be held in Tyler, Texas, and we are working to make it our biggest event yet. In addition to the powerlifting competition, we plan to incorporate vendors, community activities, fundraising opportunities, and other events that allow people of all ages to participate and learn more about our mission.

Printed materials are an important part of how we communicate that mission. We use flyers and promotional materials to reach athletes and families throughout our community, provide information to potential sponsors and vendors, promote registration and fundraising opportunities, and raise awareness about childhood brain tumors. At the event itself, printed programs, banners, sponsor signs, informational materials, and other displays help tell Lavi’s story and explain why everyone has gathered together.

Over the past several years, our community has raised more than $13,000 to support brain tumor research and awareness. We want to continue building on that success while expanding our ability to support families who have experienced the traumatic loss of a child. As our nonprofit grows, we are developing programs and initiatives that will allow us to extend our impact beyond our annual event.

Support from Conquest Graphics would help us put more resources directly toward our mission rather than spending a large portion of our limited nonprofit budget on printing. Professional printed materials would allow us to present our organization and event in a polished, consistent way while reaching more people in our community.

We believe that something as simple as a flyer, banner, or event program can do much more than provide information. It can introduce someone to Lavi’s story. It can encourage an athlete to participate. It can inspire a business to become a sponsor. It can help a family learn that they are not alone. Most importantly, it can help us keep Lavi’s memory alive while creating something meaningful from her story.

Our goal is not simply to host another powerlifting meet. Our goal is to create a community that remembers, supports, gives hope, and makes a difference. With the help of partners like Conquest Graphics, we can continue growing Lifting for Lavi and reaching more people with our message.
