Transformative Changes believes every printed piece is an invitation to heal, to lead, and to belong. It directly touches the hands of the communities we serve.

Transformative Changes is a Black woman-founded, community-rooted, peer-led startup nonprofit building healing-centered community power across Virginia. We center the leadership, lived experience, and cultural knowledge of Black and Brown youth, families, femmes, and caregivers because we believe communities closest to the challenges are also closest to the wisdom, leadership, and solutions necessary to create change.

Founded in 2022, our work is grounded in Sankofa, the understanding that we must return to what was left behind in order to move forward. Long before healing justice became institutional language, our communities practiced collective care, storytelling, artistic expression, accountability, mutual aid, and community organizing. These traditions continue to guide everything we do.

Although we are a young organization, our impact has grown rapidly. In 2025, we engaged more than 460 community members, hosted 19 community and policy events, trained 130 leaders, and supported advocacy around six pieces of Virginia legislation advancing community schools, reshaping how we support kids in school,  expanding access to public health, and community well-being.

How We Use Print Today

For us, print is a tool for education, cultural organizing, leadership development, and systems change.

We use professionally designed print materials to:

- Develop advocacy materials as a tool to champion solutions that shape a better future, such as restorative justice, sustainable workforce solutions for community health workers, and school-based health supports.

- Produce tools of transformation, such as workbooks, facilitator guides, and training toolkits that equip youth, caregivers, educators, and advocates with practical skills, such as conflict resolution, they can immediately apply.

- Design materials to center people as agents in the creation of their own-well-being through transformative experiences, such as restorative healing circles or community conferencing to collectively acknowledge and repair harm.

Where We're Going

As we enter the next chapter of Transformative Changes, we are intentionally shifting from startup survival toward sustainability, legacy, and long-term movement building

Our 2026–2029 Strategic Plan expands our work through six interconnected initiatives that strengthen healing, leadership, and community power: Black Youth & Kin, Crisis to Care, Community Cocoon, the Leadership Institute, the Community Power & Policy Design Studio, and the Social Change & Innovation Lab. Together, they help communities move from survival to healing, healing to leadership, leadership to community power, and community power to transformation.

Print will help bring that vision to life. We will produce direct mail campaigns, community storytelling publications, annual reports, partnership packets, facilitator guides, Rest as Resistance Toolkits, restorative justice resources, and ecosystem-building materials that connect youth, caregivers, artists, healers, educators, organizers, funders, policymakers, and community partners across Virginia.

These materials will support The Rest In, our regional healing justice gathering, which we envision not as a one-day event, but as the catalyst for building a sustainable Healing Justice Ecosystem across the region.

As a growing Black-woman founded nonprofit, every dollar matters. A Conquest Graphics Print Grant would allow us to invest in high-quality printed resources while directing more funding toward community programming. More importantly, it would help us invite more people into a movement rooted in healing, belonging, and collective liberation. Every printed resource becomes an opportunity to strengthen relationships, cultivate leadership, and equip communities with the tools to create lasting change together.
