In 2026, Henrico CASA will introduce a new signature event: Court of Champions™. This dynamic breakfast gathering will unite community leaders and basketball enthusiasts for lively conversation about the action happening ON the court in order to support CASA’s work IN court. The event will transform a traditional breakfast into a courtside-inspired experience, complete with thematic posters, bold signage, printed programs, creative centerpieces, and personalized name tags. Every visual detail will reinforce the connection between the energy of the game and the urgency of our mission. Court of Champions™ will not simply raise funds. It is intended to demonstrate how intentional, well-designed print materials can create atmosphere, strengthen brand identity, and move people from spectators to supporters.
At its heart, Henrico CASA exists to ensure that children who have experienced abuse or neglect have a strong, consistent voice in the courtroom and in the community. Since 1994, we have advocated for more than 4,600 children in the Richmond region, children navigating complicated systems during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Behind each statistic is a young person with individual strengths, challenges, and hopes for the future. Our Advocates step into the gap to make sure those hopes are not overshadowed by circumstance. Their presence communicates a powerful message: your story matters, and your future is worth fighting for.
Carrying out this mission requires ongoing engagement with the broader community. We must continually build awareness, recruit and train volunteers, and secure the financial resources necessary to sustain high-quality advocacy. Print materials are an essential part of that effort. A brochure handed to a potential volunteer, a postcard received in the mail, or a program picked up at an event invites a slower, more thoughtful interaction. These pieces are not scrolled past; they are held, read, and often saved.
Because the children we serve deserve privacy and protection, we are thoughtful about how we tell their stories. We often rely on stock photography to represent the transformation that is possible when a child has a dedicated advocate. Images of children engaged in school, surrounded by supportive adults, or simply enjoying childhood moments help paint a picture of stability and hope. Such visuals communicate across cultures and languages, evoking empathy in ways that statistics alone cannot. We pair images with a clear invitation to act to bolster involvement.
Print also provides room for deeper storytelling and transparency. Through our annual report, quarterly impact postcards, brochures, bookmarks, and other printed collateral, we are able to share meaningful case examples, outline measurable outcomes, and illustrate our responsible use of donor funds. The tangible nature of these materials reinforces credibility. A printed annual report resting on a coffee table or an impact postcard displayed on a refrigerator serves as an ongoing reminder of the role supporters play in a child’s journey toward safety and stability.
Our printed materials are created with purpose. They are tools for education, invitations to partnership, and reminders of hope. By thoughtfully integrating print into our strategy, Henrico CASA strengthens its ability to reach new audiences, deepen existing relationships, and continue elevating the voices of children who deserve to be heard and championed.
