There are many reasons to choose to go green – but your business should know that it is also good for business.

According to Media Post and their “The Conscious Consumer Report” of 2009, 67% of consumers agreed that, “Even in tough economic times, it is important to purchase products with social and environmental benefits.” Not only does it matter – your customer may be willing to pay even more if you are environmentally friendly. Fifty-one percent also said they were willing to pay more for these products. Sixty-six percent stated that price was “very important” in their purchasing decisions.

This means two out of three consumers will actively search for those environmentally friendly products and services. Simply put: it pays to be “green” and environmentally friendly – for your bottom line and everyone who enjoys the earth’s resources.

Choosing recycled papers for your business needs is a great way to go green. Every time your letterhead, envelopes and business cards to out into the world – they carry your business’ message and mission with them. Potential clients, customers and relationships can be created from each of these contacts. Letting your customers know you are a green company and environmentally conscious by choosing recycled papers can be an ideal choice. Taking care of the environment is something that many are aware of – and want to see businesses taking their part in.

Today’s consumers according to “The Conscious Consumer Report“ also look for information to confirm if a company or a product is green. They will:

  • Twenty-nine percent look at consumer reports.
  • Twenty-eight percent look at certification seals or product labels.
  • Twenty-seven percent look at the list of ingredients.

One of the most important things you can do for your company is to be clear how your company is going green. If you are new to starting green activities, explain this in a clear and concise manner. Give specific details about how your company is green; don’t simply give vague answers as to how your company is green.

The biggest reason to go green? You help assure there are better, high quality resources available for tomorrow’s business needs. Turning to greener, environmentally friendly alternatives means you are using today’s resources in a practical and useful manner knowing what is best to use for today. As going green becomes even more popular, it is likely that additional exciting innovations will be made to offer great business products for your needs.
