Part 2 of our printing projects tips, be sure to read part 1 also. Getting your message across is vital to building a strong business foundation and maximizing sales.
3. Paper Sizes
There are plenty of standard paper sizes, but don’t let the standard sizes constrain you. You can play around with paper shapes as well as the sizing, it is only a matter of making cuts at the printshop and they can do this cheaply too.
Use a non-standard paper size for company presentations and quotes – when they are in a pile of competing material they will tend to stand out for this reason alone.
4. Target Audience
Knowing who you are looking to attract is crucial from any marketing viewpoint, and this applies equally well with printing. No matter what you are producing, keep in mind your target consumer because there is no mileage in producing material fit for geriatrics when you are trying to get cool teens to use your product.
5. White Space Bleed
The space around images and the frame of a piece is known as the "bleed" – use this to create effect, such as printing across the bleed using oversize text. White space also provides structure to the overall presentation, so look at how you can use space and the bleed to maximize the impact on your readers.
You can use all of these tips in your business marketing material such as magazines, business cards, door hangers, posters, and more.
