Know your customer and win their business. The success of your rack card printing
campaign depends on knowing your audience. Catering to your audience's desires and
needs will allow you to design a killer rack card that grabs attention and gets
results. Are you a hotel owner catering to traveling sales people, or the manager
of a tourist attraction? Your design, offers, calls to action, and features/benefits
must all resonate with your audience. Before you write copy or settle on a design,
visit your distribution points so you can better understand your rack card printing
competitors.
Analyze your competitors' samples and compare visuals, colors, headlines, promotions,
discounts and other important features. Then design your rack cards to be even more
compelling. You'll also want to pay close attention to the people at your distribution
points. If you're targeting vacationing families, you might be better off placing
your printed rack cards at tourist centers versus airports. Your rack cards only
need a few things: images, calls to action, and brief descriptive text. You'll also
need to include your address, phone number, website URL and a map to help customers
find you.
It may help to include popular landmarks, especially if you're trying to attract
overflow traffic from these locations: "Next to the new Piggly Wiggly”. Tell visitors
what to expect. Your rack cards should be persuasive and compelling, and should
tell your visitors about your benefits. Let's say you run an Elvis museum: Instead
of simply including the line "See Elvis”, try saying, "Yes, Elvis is alive! Come
meet him today!" Pick one main attraction for the front of your rack card and bullet
point less important attractions on the back. If you have many attractions that
target different audiences, you will be better off with two or three different rack
cards for the best ROI. Keep your rack cards simple and to the point, but include
enough information to help visitors decide that they would rather have their fingernails
pulled out with pliers than to miss your attraction.
Include coupons or other promotional offers in your rack card printing. Coupons,
discounts, and other promotions are a fantastic way to drive foot traffic and to
measure your rack card printing response rate. You should always promote your special
offers. You can also cross-promote with complementary--but not competing--businesses.
A hotel might partner with a restaurant to offer couples a “Sleepin’ After Eatin’”
package through creative cooperative rack card printing. Couples save money on food
and alcohol, and then have a convenient place where they can be alone together,
and the shared rack card printing cost doubles ROI for both businesses.
A successful rack card marketing strategy is simple when you know the best ways
to attract visitors. Copy your competition to see what works, and then make your
rack cards even better. Track ROI, run A/B tests, and tweak your rack card designs
for the best bottom-line results. Eventually, you'll have a killer rack card printing
campaign that delivers measurable and sustainable results every time!
