The Spirit of Enterprise is alive and well!
When you see the rewarding aspects that come from an enterprising spirit, as we have, you can’t help but want to share it with others. This is why we launched our paid intern program...
"The Spirit of Enterprise."
We’re giving young adults (rising high school seniors preferred) the opportunity to learn about our business and industry—and many other businesses too—with our three-week paid summer intern program.
We start with a thorough tour of our business and explanation of how workflows are done from start to finish. With the print industry knowledge in mind, the next phase is "business boot camp" training where best practices are taught in office etiquette, computer skills, cold calling sales, customer service, marketing and data management.
Interns spend a day visiting with an area nonprofit. They may also be tasked with speaking with leaders of businesses and chief decision-makers to learn first-hand what each does and how print integrates with their success.
When appropriate, proposals are prepared and provided to the businesses that offer potential process improvements, more effective means of customer engagement, and/or cost savings.
They will spend a day collaborating together to complete a rush marketing task that will challenge their mind and creativity in a deadline scenario. Previously learned skills with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign can be a big plus, but are not required.
This additional exposure inside area industries unveils so much more than what a student could learn from a website or phone, and offers insight into diverse career paths. Naturally, we want everyone to join the print industry some day, but we're also happy to provide the foundation for professionalism and be the catalyst for success if he or she chooses another direction.
Interns will keep a journal and photo-document their experiences. This material will be presented to our leadership staff in a formal boardroom presentation setting where they will receive their Completion Certificate and evaluation.
Our interns have the opportunity to:
- Realize the value and possibilities of enterprise
- See results based on individual action
- Help improve customer communications for Conquest Graphics and area businesses
- Have first-hand experiences in sales, production, and marketing of real-world items
- Develop skills that will serve them in the years ahead in any industry
- Discover how businesses operate, profit, and grow
- Gain valuable communications and marketing insight
- Learn about printing, production, methodologies, and mailings
