Why do airlines almost always give you your tickets in pocket folders? Have you
ever thought about the reason that these printed items are used? Maybe it has to
do with the fact that when you are going on a trip and boarding a plane and going
through security, you have a lot of things going on at once.
Your ticket is complicated. It’s got several parts to it. Stuff you tear off and
stuff you leave on. It can turn on you in a second. Where did I put this? Where
does that go? The one thing that the airlines do not want to see happen is for a
paying customer to fail to make her plane because she can’t find her ticket. That
makes for a very unhappy customer. A non-returning customer.

but don’t really walk the walk. How can a business owner or business professional

and the ones that are just “green washing”?
Take a look at the websites of online printing services. Almost all of them mention
“going green” or “sustainable printing” practices. Very few of them will have information
about their green printer certification status. An online discount printing service
that is serious about green printing and environmental stewardship will be FSC-certified.
The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international organization that helps
ensure that paper and other wood products are sourced from well-managed forests,
and that the wood was not harvested from clear-cutting operations, or from rain
forests, or disturbed or took advantage of indigenous peoples who live in and around
the forested lands.
